2016

Emily Stirk

BIO:

Emily Stirk, is an up and coming player whose star is on the rise. Now graduating out of the Junior Leagues Stirk has been a part of the Australian Women’s Junior Development Program where she participated in the Under 21’s Thai Asian Cup Tournament in 2017 and the USA High Performance Championships in 2018.

She has represented the State of New South Wales on numerous occasions and has been playing in the National Level Australian Volleyball League (AVL) since 2017.

2019

  • GOLD Medalist & All Star – Women’s Honour’s – Endeavour Volleyball Club – NSW State Volleyball League (SVL)
  • GOLD Medalist & All Star – Under 19’s – Endeavour Volleyball Club – NSW State Volleyball League (SVL)
  • Captain – Women’s 19U – Endeavour Volleyball Club – NSW State Volleyball League (SVL)
  • Sweet 8 – Women’s Division 1 – Endeavour Volleyball Club – NSW State Volleyball League (SVL)
  • Captain – Women’s Division 1 Endeavour Volleyball Club – NSW State Volleyball League (SVL)
  • Stirk was also selected as the captain for her regional team who placed Second at the Regional Championships.
  • She was announced tournament MVP for the Second time in a row, which ended her high school career in the regional squad.
  • She was selected as the Captain for the Under 19’s Combined High Schools Squad who placed first.
  • Honoured as part of the All Star 7, Combined High Schools.
  • Selected Women’s Sydney AMAZONS Squad for Australian Open Volleyball Championships 2019

2018

  • Selected into the Under 19’s New South Wales State Squad who placed 5th at the Junior Volleyball Championships.
  • Selected for her regional team as well, which competed in Port Macquarie and placed first, undefeated, where she was given the tournament MVP.
  • Selected to participate in the Quad Series as apart of the Under 19’s CHS team, her second year in a row, placing second.
  • Selected to represent her country again at the USA High Performance Championships, held in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
  • Part of the UTSSU AVL squad who participated in the National Championships held in Melbourne at the end of 2018.
  • Captain of her school team the following week at the Australian Volleyball Schools Cup to silver in the Division 2 Opens age group.

2017

  • Selected for the Australian Junior Development Women’s Team who played in Thailand.
  • Selected for the Under 17s NSW State Team who participated once again in the Junior Championships, placing 5th.
  • Selected for the Under 19’s combined High Schools team who flew to Tahiti to participate in the Oceana Championships, placing 3rd in the Under 19’s Age Group and 4th in the Opens Age Group.
  • Awarded with being in the ‘All Star 7’ Team for NSW.
  • Member of the UTSSU training Squad during the AVL season.
  • Captained her Team to Gold at the Australian Volleyball Schools Cup, in Division 1 Opens.

2016

  • Placed first in the Under 16’s Girls as apart of the Sydney Volleyball League for Hills Dragons.
  • Awarded All Star for the Women’s Division 1 Hills Dragons Team, who placed 4th.
  • Selected for the Under 17’s New South Wales State Squad who placed 3rd at the Australian Junior Volleyball Championships.
  • Selected in Under 16’s Combined High Schools Team who placed 4th at the Championships.
  • Represented her School at the Australian Volleyball Schools Cup.

Simona Sekulova

BIO

Simona Sekulova (born 10 February 1992), One of the top players in New Zealand over the past several years…A member of the Under-17, 18 and 19 teams at varying points…Led her country to the Asian Youth Volleyball Championship in 2010…In 2009, she represented Auckland in the Volleyball New Zealand U-19 Championship and helped the team to a first place finish…Has played for the Waitakere Women’s Volleyball Club since 2007, leading the squad to a second place finish in her first year at the national club championship…Also a member of the team at her secondary school, Rutherford College, where she experienced a pair of zone championships in New Zealand…Originally from Macedonia, Sekulova moved to New Zealand in 2006.

Simona succeeded in achieving a Full Scholarship to play at Seton Hall University in the USA in the NCAA Division 1 level. A rare achievement in any circumstances but truly rare air for International players being permitted to enter the ranks of the NCAA.

2019

2017 SVL:

Playing in the Honours Division of the Sydney Volleyball League in NSW, Australia in the Sydney North Volleyball Club. Presently half way through the season and played in 27 sets in 7 matches. Leading the teams offence and playing the leading role in driving a dynamic and explosive attack as the dominant outside hitter.

2014 NCAA:

Played in 55 sets over 20 matches… Had seven kills and only one attack error at St. John’s… Notched eight kills vs. LIU… Had 10 kills at Butler… Erupted for a season-high 14 kills vs. St. John’s… Had seven kills and just one error vs. St. Francis (Pa.)… Tallied five kills and a career-high 16 digs vs. UNLV… Had a season-high seven kills vs. Siena… Had five kills vs. Florida Gulf Coast.

2013 NCAA:

Played in 38 sets over 13 matches… Missed several matches due to injured knee… Tallied a team-high nine kills and three blocks at NJIT… Lad 10 kills at Georgetown… Led Seton Hall with eight kills at LIU-Brooklyn… Matched her career-high with six digs to go with six kills at St. John’s… Made her season debut at Virginia and led the team with 10 kills – also had six digs.

2012 NCAA:

Played in 86 sets over 25 matches… Made two starts… Ranked third on the team with 192 kills… Tallied seven kills and a team-best .545 hitting percentage vs. DePaul… Had 11 kills vs. Rutgers… Had 11 kills and a career-high five digs vs. Syracuse despite battling injury… Notched a career-high 15 kills to go with three blocks and a .258 hitting percentage vs. Marquette. Recorded 13 kills and four blocks at Cincinnati… Matched her career-high for a second straight game with a match-high 13 kills vs. Saint Peter’s… Matched her career-high with a team-leading 13 kills vs. USF… Recorded a team-high 10 kills and .450 attack percentage in a victory over Princeton… Notched 10 kills and a .429 attack percentage against Canisius… Registered nine kills in a win against Binghamton… Posted 11 kills in a victory over James Madison… BIG EAST Academic All-Star.

2011 NCAA:

Played 37 sets in 12 appearances… Recorded seven kills in back-to-back appearances at Fordham and USF…Posted five kills against Louisville… Tallied five kills with only one error to go with a career-high four blocks against Cincinnati… Had five kills at Rutgers… Tied career-high with four blocks at Marquette… Registered season-high seven kills against Georgetown… Totaled six kills against Villanova… BIG EAST Academic All-Star.

2010:

Played in eight matches and 25 sets before missing the remainder of the season due to a leg injury…Had eight kills against William and Mary…Posted a career-high 13 kills against Winthrop…Notched four kills at Penn State…Recorded two blocks versus VCU…Earned a start at California and totaled four kills… BIG EAST Academic All-Star.
